Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen earns its reputation — every alley genuinely is painted some shade of blue, and the town sits high enough in the Rif that the air feels different from anywhere else on a northern route.

Questions

Planning a visit to Chefchaouen

How far is Chefchaouen from Fes?

About 4 hours on the road, a little more if we stop at Volubilis on the way.

How far is Chefchaouen from Tangier?

About two and a half hours. Many people come in by ferry or flight to Tangier and start the trip from there.

One night is the minimum I'd suggest. The magic is early morning, before the day visitors arrive — you only get that if you stay.
