Rose Valley
The Rose Valley is on the road between Ouarzazate and Dades, and in spring the hedges of roses along the fields are the whole point. The rest of the year it's still a lovely green valley with good walking.
What stands out
Why this place stays with people
- Rose hedges along the fields
- Rose water and oil cooperatives
- Kelaat M'Gouna rose festival in May
- M'Goun river valley walks
Best time to go
Late April to May for the roses. Otherwise good most of the year.
From the driver's seat
Outside the season the roses aren't there, so I'll be honest about whether it's worth a detour on your dates.

A couple of hours; half a day with a walk.
Getting there

Worth seeing

- Small distilleries making rose water
- Walks up the valley between the villages
Good to know
- The roses bloom from late April into May, with the rose festival in May.
- Buy rose water and oils from the cooperatives. The quality is better and the price is fair.
